A 400 N force pulls due north on a crate. What other force must act on the crate if the net force on the crate is 152 N due North? Answered. 26 May 2020.What is q1 (magnitude and sign) if the net force on q3 is zero? A cyclist intends to cycle up a 7.8° hill whose vertical height is 150 m. Assuming they start from rest and the mass of the bicycle plus the cyclist is 75 kg.If the cyclist instead does 120 kJ of work, what will their velocity in m/s be at the top of...The net force is zero Newtons. All the individual forces balance each other (i.e., cancel each other out). See Answer to Situation B. However, the magnitudes of a few of the individual forces are not known. Analyze each situation individually and determine the magnitude of the unknown forces.First draw an arrow at each point indicating the direction of the net force that a positive test charge would experience if placed (The F force on a proton would point in the same direction as theE field). | If the field points to the right in Fig. 16-46, determine the magnitude and sign of the point charge.Find the magnitude of the electric field strength (a) at the centre of the ring; (b) on the axis of the ring as a function of the distance x from its centre. 3.13. A thin straight rod of length 2a carrying a uniformly distributed charge q is located in vacuum.

For a net force of zero to be exerted on a third charged particle it must be placed: ""A. midway between A and B B. on the perpendicular bisector of the Part B Find the net force acting on particle 3 due to the presence of the other two particles. Report you answer as a magnitude and a direction measured...19-1 Electric Charge. Object with zero net charge are said to be electrically neutral. Example 19-21: Superposition (a) Find the direction and magnitude of the net force exerted on the point charge q3 in the figure. Let q= +2.4 uC and d= 33cm. (b) How would your answer change if the distance d were...The net force on q2 now has a magnitude of F2,net = 14.413 N and points away from q1 and q3. What is the value (sign and magnitude) of the charge q3? Given that. Magnitude of net force. Suppose a point charge q₁ = -3 μC is located at the origin of a co-ordinate system.By symmetry, the magnitude of the force on any charge is the same. Let's find this for the charge at the lower left corner, which we take as the origin, as 39. The dipole moment of the water molecule is 6.2 ! 10 "3 0 C# m. What would be the separation distance if the molecule consisted of charges ±e ?

Determining the Net Force

For the net force to be zero, magnitude of both the forces must be equal. The solutions for #x_3# remain same. However, the requirement for the direction of both to be opposite would be met only if the third charge was placed between the two charges.PHY1508 Question 1 The figure shows an equilateral triangle ABC. A positive point charge +q is located at each of the three vertices A, B, and C. Each side...If the net force on q₃ is zero. Negative sign shows the attraction force. The equilibrium position, The both forces are in balance. Hence, The charge of q₁ has the magnitude four times of charge q₂ and sign as that of q₃.What is q1 (magnitude and sign) if the net force on q3 is zero? Therefore resultant force on Q1 due to Q2 and q should be zero. Note that the charge q should essentially be negative for the equilibrium of other two charges.The net force is zero if the object is not accelerating. Net force is zero when two opposite forces have the same magnitude and there is no acceleration.

Suggestion: disregard about the force on q3. Find out what q1 must be in order for the box at the starting place to be zero. (That way, ANY price placed there can have a net zero force.)

E = kq / d², so (kq/d²)_1 = (kq/d²)_2

-3.5nC / (4.5cm)² = -q / (2.5cm)²

q = 1.08 C

I put a -ve signal on the RHS since q obviously needs to have an indication opposite that of q2 as a way to get a zero field someplace to the left.
